These Legs Were Made for Dancing but This Boot Ain't Made for Walking

I can dance....I just don't know how to walk!!!

So here is the scoop..... I went dancing on New Year's Eve, had a good time. On New Year's Day however..... LadyJ and I were shopping and I went to step off a curb, but a car was coming so I tried to step back, but didn't make it. Needless to say, LadyJ and I both heard my ankle snap!!! Thankfully she remained calm and I was right next to the car. I called my most wonderful and dearest friend, who came to get LadyJ while her husband took me to the ER.

The ER said it wasn't broke, but I really felt like something wasn't quite right so I made an appt with the Ortho Doc. I had a bruise on the top of my foot where it connects to your leg...( I twisted my foot so far to the inside, that part of my foot hit the ground....yeah OUCH!!!) When you look at the X-ray, sure enough there is a piece of the bone floating right below the ankle (I have broken this before - basically, I sprained it so badly it rips part of the bone off) Anyway, Ortho Doc says he is not real worried about the little bone chip, he did another X-Ray and put me in a walking boot.

I went back today and my foot is still very painful and keeps swelling on the outside and the top. The Doc said it is likely just a very severe sprain, but he wants me in the boot for one more week. If it is not better then, he will do an MRI, to determine if there are some small bones broken or something that requires surgery......then he said it may just be that you aren't 18 anymore---(is that anything like saying "Hey lady, accept the fact that you are getting old and your body is going to take longer to heal!?!?!) I Will Always Dance!!!
